Closing Comments from the DHA Candidate Forum
Sunday, September 22nd I had the honor of being on stage and presenting my case to earn the honor and becoming your next public servant to represent #Dunwoody residents in the District 2 At-Large Council seat. Here's my closing statement from that Dunwoody Homeowners Association candidate forum.
I’m taking this seriously. When I walked in to city hall and signed up, I had butterflies in my stomach. The last time I felt like that was when I proposed to my wife, Kathleen.
I’ve done this before. Service to our nation and state. As a former Army National Guard officer, it’s much more than one weekend / month. And when I’m serving on council, you have my word that I’ll be out there working for you. Much more than just showing up and voting at a council meeting a couple of times a month.
I’m an open book. Just google my name. I’m a Listener. I engage and collaborate. I adapt to ideas and feedback.
I’m honored to have a Broad-based Coalition of Supporters: Including retirees, empty nesters, former DHS Valedictorian; and people on the opposite ends of the national political spectrum.
In moving forward, we’re not going to stop doing what we’re doing today.
Thank all of those who worked so hard to protect and preserve Dunwoody before we became a city. Thank all of those who worked so hard for us to become a city. Thank all of those who worked so hard in laying the solid foundation during the past decade as a city.
Issues will arise at a moment’s notice. We need dynamic leadership to be able to address them, with the vision to get us there. We must be proactive, rather than reactive. We must leverage every tool in the toolbox available to our city government
In closing, I didn’t wait to get asked for a seat at the table. I jumped right in and have been active. Collaborating and getting things done for over a decade here in Dunwoody, the region and in Georgia.
As your councilmember, I’ll always be outreaching and listening to residents, collaborating; making sure our city government operates each day Putting Dunwoody First.
Please join me on the journey in taking Dunwoody from Good to Great, and I ask for the honor of earning your vote on November 5th. THANK YOU
